Title: Neutral Representations and Fields of Moduli

Abstract: The field of moduli of an algebraic structure — such as a variety, vector bundle, or polarization — is the smallest field over which the structure is isomorphic to all of its Galois conjugates. A field of definition is a field over which the structure admits a model. Every field of definition contains the field of moduli, which leads to the natural question: is the field of moduli itself a field of definition? An R-singularity is a quotient singularity of the form $A^n/G$ such that every twist admits a resolution with a rational point lying above the singularity. In this talk, we introduce neutral representations, and explain how their classifications help the study of field of moduli and R-singularities.
